A U.S. Air Force veteran and former air traffic controller for the FAA, Ron Mentus has devoted much of the past quarter-century to promoting and advancing the causes of good sportsmanship and character through RLM Athletics.
Having coached baseball at the high school and junior college levels, he has seen the decline of sportsmanship and character, too often at the expense of winning at all costs. He is available to speak to groups at any level, where his “Triple Play Game Plan” addresses those issues and offers solutions to get back on the track of proper behavior and a balanced perspective in all sports.
In 2002 he was honored by Collegiate Baseball with its first Sportsmanship Award, which was presented at the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. A former freelance writer with the Danbury News-Times for 16 years, he is now a contributing editor for Baseball The Magazine, a quarterly publication based in Florida. His past articles have featured the Danbury Westerners. Since 2005, RLM Athletics has been the proud sponsor of the Danbury Westerners Sportsmanship Award.
An All-City third baseman during his high school years in Waterbury, CT, he has served eight seasons as manager of the two-time Suffolk Christian League champion New Village Crusaders. In 1985, he was selected to the SCL Hall of Fame. He has earned a coaching certificate from the United States Sports Academy.
Let RLM Athletics help your team, group or league make “Winning With Character” once again a top priority in the athletic world. |
